Anand Padmanabhan is a Research Scientist at ITE since August 2023, with a strong background in technologies for nanosystems, bioengineering, and energy. Anand completed a PhD at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, focusing on a bio-inspired nanochannel platform for detecting pathogens in healthcare-associated infections, under the supervision of Prof. Beatriz Prieto Simon. Prior experience includes a Visiting Doctoral Fellowship at UCL, where a project on self-assembled material architecture for electrochemical biosensing was undertaken, and a Master thesis internship at the University of South Australia, developing a disposable electrochemical immunosensor for THC detection. Additional research positions comprised a Visiting Researcher role at Hosei University, a research internship at the National Chemical Laboratory working on metal ferrites, and a summer internship at IISER Pune, focusing on fluorescence sensors using graphene quantum dots. Anand holds a 5-year Integrated Masters in Chemistry from IISER Pune.
