Akko Maas is a seasoned professional in the field of physics and engineering with extensive experience in various organizations related to nuclear fusion research. Currently serving as Science Coordinating Officer at the ITER Organization since January 2023, Akko previously held the role of Senior Engineering Officer at the same organization from January 2006 to December 2019. Prior experience includes a position as a Scientist at CEA Cadarache, focusing on pressure measurements and particle balance calculations, and serving as a Scientist at JET Joint Undertaking, where responsibilities included overseeing a high energy NPA. Akko holds a PhD in Physics from Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht and a Master's degree in Experimental Physics from Rijksuniversiteit Leiden, along with completing secondary education at Gertrudis lyceum Roosendaal.
