Prashi Jain

Director, Drug Discovery at Iterion Therapeutics

Prashi Jain has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. Prashi is currently working as the Director of Drug Discovery at Iterion Therapeutics since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Baylor College of Medicine from January 2022 until the present, where their research focused on the role of SRC-3 in Treg biology and cancer progression. Prashi also served as an Instructor at Baylor College of Medicine from October 2018 to January 2022, leading a cross-functional team in a cell-based therapy project against cancer and developing methodologies for drug discovery.

Before joining Baylor College of Medicine, Prashi held the position of Scientist II at Ponce Therapeutics, Inc. from January 2022 to August 2022. Prashi also gained experience as a Therapeutics Intern at Fannin Innovation Studio from September 2021 to December 2021.

Earlier in their career, Prashi worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow/Drug Discovery Lead at Baylor College of Medicine from June 2015 to September 2018, where they developed new methodologies for drug discovery and successfully managed budget and vendor negotiations. Prashi also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher/Cross-Functional Team Lead at The University of Kansas from December 2011 to May 2015, optimizing multiple hits to leads for various biological targets.

Furthermore, Prashi has experience as a Project Initiator and Lead at Duquesne University from July 2009 to November 2011, where they led multiple projects focused on designing selective inhibitors for Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Duquesne University from August 2005 to June 2008, assisting with biochemistry laboratory sessions. Prashi started their teaching career as a Lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy SGSITS Indore from January 2005 to July 2005.

Prashi Jain has an extensive education history in the field of Medicinal Chemistry. Prashi obtained their Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Duquesne University, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MS) in Medicinal Chemistry from Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science, attending from 2002 to 2004. Prashi also holds a Bachelor's of Pharmacy degree from the same institution, which they completed from 1998 to 2002.

In addition to their formal education, Prashi Jain has obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These include certifications in Interpersonal Communication, Project Leadership, and Influencing Others from LinkedIn, obtained in 2021. Prashi also completed a Basic Immunology graduate course at Baylor College of Medicine in February 2021, and an Explorative Data Analysis course at the same institution in March 2019. Earlier, in April 2018, they completed a course on LIFE SCIENCE ENTREPRENEURSHIP - MGMT 633 at Rice University. Furthermore, Prashi has received training in Agilent LC/MS through an in-house workshop conducted by Agilent Technologies in October 2015.
