Emily Rockett

Emily Rockett is currently serving as the General Cousel at Ithaca College. Prior to their current position, they were a labor relations specialist at Greater Southern Tier BOCES from February 2019 to December 2019. In this role, they advised component school districts in all aspects of labor and employment law, including collective bargaining negotiations, contract interpretation, employee discipline, and general compliance matters. Emily also represented component districts and BOCES in grievance arbitrations. Additionally, they served as impartial hearing officer in student suspension hearings.

From October 2015 to February 2019, Emily was an associate at Miller Mayer LLP where they worked on civil litigation cases. Before that, they were a litigation associate at Sayles & Evans from September 2013 to October 2015. In this role, they represented school districts in Special Education disputes. Emily researched, drafted memoranda, and advised clients on issues related to New York State Education Law and related topics. Additionally, they represented commercial clients in a variety of contract disputes and advised landlords with respect to landlord-tenant issues.

Emily began their career as a summer associate at Wadleigh, Starr & Peters from May 2012 to August 2012.

Emily Rockett has a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a BA in English from Williams College.
