Valerie Ober

Valerie Ober is an experienced professional in accessibility and assistive technology, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Assistive Technology at Ithaca College since January 2024. Previously, Valerie held the position of Digital Accessibility Coordinator, a shared role among Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College, and Smith College from May 2023 to January 2024. Valerie's prior experience at Ithaca College includes serving as an Adaptive Technology Specialist from July 2017 to May 2023. Additional roles include Copy Editor at eCornell and Accommodations Specialist for Student Disability Services at Cornell University, where responsibilities included coordinating captioned media production and administering the notetaking program. Valerie's earlier career includes work as an Environmental Scientist at Tetra Tech from July 2004 to August 2012. Valerie holds an M.A. in Museum Studies from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University.
