Dr. Patrick Leisching

Dr. Patrick Leisching has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dr. Patrick currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at iThera Medical GmbH since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at TOPTICA Photonics AG for 12 years, starting as a Senior Vice President of R&D from June 2019 to May 2022, and then as a Vice President of R&D from March 2010 to May 2019.

Before joining TOPTICA Photonics AG, Dr. Leisching had a stint at Nokia Siemens Networks, where they held the position of Head of Product and Solution Management OSS Transport from November 2008 to March 2010. Dr. Patrick also served as the Head of Portfolio Management IP-Transport from April 2007 to October 2008, responsible for evaluating and improving the portfolio for various product lines.

Dr. Leisching's earlier experience includes working at Siemens Communications Mobile Networks, where they held multiple roles. Dr. Patrick was the Director of Project Management from March 2006 to March 2007, the Head of Department for Optical Systems from September 2005 to February 2006, an R&D project leader for WDM transport platform from June 2000 to August 2005, and a Senior expert for optical switching technologies from April 1998 to May 2000.

Dr. Leisching's career began at the MAX BORN INSTITUTE for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy, where they served as a Project Leader for the Er:fiber-laser laboratory from January 1997 to February 1998.

Dr. Patrick Leisching completed their education in a sequential order. Dr. Patrick began their academic journey at the Technical University of Munich from 1986 to 1992, where they obtained a Dipl.-Phys. degree in Physics. Dr. Patrick then pursued further studies at RWTH Aachen University from 1992 to 1995, earning a Dr. rer. nat. degree. During this time, their field of study was focused on Bloch Oszillations in Semiconductors. Following this, from 1995 to 1996, they engaged in a Post-Doc position at École Polytechnique, specializing in Nonlinear optics in semimagnetic semiconductors.
