Jorge Avila

Director, Community Outreach at ITU

Jorge Avila is currently the Director of Community Outreach at ITU. Prior to this, they held various positions at different companies, including PMI-Sacramento Valley Chapter, LISTA Nor Cal TechLatino Council, California Office of Technology Services, and Department of Health Services. Jorge has a wealth of experience in project management, having overseen the development and documentation of Project Management Plans (PMPs), Feasibility Study Reports (FSRs), Budget Change Proposals (BCPs), and Special Project Reports (SPRs). Jorge has also been responsible for the contract development and monitoring for the HIPAA Project, coordinating MIS Data Management Unit, and Window server & Mainframe projects. In addition, Jorge has established processes for the monitoring of contracts as well as developing Statement of Work templates for IT project contracts. Consequently, they have successfully managed a number of IT projects throughout their career.
