David Allen is an experienced conservation professional with a focus on biodiversity assessment and project management. Currently serving as a Regional Biodiversity Assessment Officer and Programme Officer at IUCN since 2007, David manages conservation assessment projects for freshwater species across Asia, Africa, and Europe. Previous roles include Senior Research Assistant at RSPB, where ecological data on Spotted flycatchers was collected, and Assistant Warden at Norfolk Wildlife Trust, coordinating conservation efforts at a key wetland site. David also has a background as an ecologist and conservation management contractor, consultant in corporate social responsibility, and project assistant for natural resource programs. David holds a Master of Science in Applied Ecology and Conservation and a Bachelor of Science in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia, as well as an HND in Environmental Analysis and Monitoring from Farnborough College of Technology.
