Francis Okalo is a Program Manager for Coastal and Oceans Resilience at IUCN in Kenya, with experience in program development, implementation, fundraising, and stakeholder mobilization since February 2021. Currently a part-time lecturer at Pwani University, Francis previously served as a Research Associate at the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, where work focused on seaweed research and fundraising from May 2014 to January 2021. An early internship with Msambweni Turtle involved conducting beach patrols, reporting on turtle nesting and mortality, and engaging in fisheries management alongside Mwaembe BMU. Francis holds a Master of Science in Aquaculture from Ghent University and a Bachelor of Science in Coastal and Marine Resource Management from Kenyatta University.
