Derek Washington

Derek Washington has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and infrastructure management. Derek currently holds the position of Senior Manager of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations at Ivalua since May 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at Teachers Federal Credit Union for a total of 12 years. At Teachers Federal Credit Union, Derek served as the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager from June 2020 to May 2022. During this time, they were responsible for participating in the planning and organizing of information systems, aligning critical infrastructure with business needs, and overseeing the network and systems divisions. Before their managerial role, Derek worked as a Senior Network Engineer from August 2016 to June 2020 and as an Assistant Network Engineer from June 2015 to August 2016. Additionally, at Teachers Federal Credit Union, they served as a PC Technician Networking from July 2010 to June 2015. Derek's professional journey began in 2003 when they worked as a Team Lead at Target until June 2008. Prior to that, they had a brief role as a Teller at Teachers Federal Credit Union from January 2009 to May 2010.

Derek Washington obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from St. John's University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at North Babylon from 2002 to 2006. Derek recently pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management at Western Governors University, which they are expected to complete by 2022. In terms of certifications, Derek obtained CompTIA Network+ certification from CompTIA in December 2019, and they also attained the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 1 and Level 2 certifications from Fortinet in May 2020.
