Frédéric Godbout

Chief Investment Officer, Desjardins Group Pension Plan at Ivanhoé Cambridge

Frédéric Godbout is Chief Investment Officer for the Desjardins Group Pension Plan (RRMD). He is responsible for developing, executing and monitoring investment strategies for a portfolio of more than $20 billion covering various asset classes. He is also responsible for the management and development of the RRMD's investment teams. Previously, Frédéric worked for 19 years at the Caisse de depot et placement du Québec (CDPQ). He was Senior Vice President, Private Markets Funds. In this capacity, he managed a portfolio of over 60 investment relationships representing over $30 billion in commitments. He has also established and managed strategic partnerships for the benefit of various asset classes (private equity, public markets, fixed income, real estate and infrastructure). He implemented an innovation investment strategy for sustainable investing with an allocation of $500 million and co-chaired the investment committee. He was also Deputy Head of the International Private Equity group, covering a broad spectrum of investment teams, industries and transaction types. He has served on the investment committees of the private equity, infrastructure, financing solutions, credit and stock market value strategy portfolios.
