Gj Stols

GJ Stols is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as an Engineering Applications Specialist at Ivanhoe Mines since March 2024. Prior to this role, GJ held positions including Mechanical Engineer at Mventech from September 2023 to February 2024, and Technical Specialist at DMR Technologies from April 2022 to August 2023. As Senior Optimization Engineer at ETA Operations (Pty) Ltd from January 2020 to April 2022, GJ led an optimization team focused on enhancing energy efficiency across multiple mining shafts. Earlier experience includes a role as Optimization Engineer, where GJ managed projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and cost reduction in the mining sector. GJ began a career in engineering with vacation work at Afrimat in 2018 as an Engineering Student. GJ holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field, both from North-West University.
