Paula Soto

Paula Soto has a diverse work experience in the field of medical communications and scientific publications. Paula is currently working as the Director of Medical Communications at Iveric Bio since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Director of Scientific Communications at Greenwich Biosciences from January 2021 to November 2021. Before that, they held the position of Associate Director of Scientific Communications/Publications at Retrophin from May 2019 to January 2021.

In their earlier career, Paula served as the Associate Director of Medical Communications at La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company from January 2019 to April 2019, and as a Sr Manager of Publications from August 2017 to December 2018. Paula gained experience as a Manager of Medical Communications at Meridius Health Communications from March 2015 to July 2017, and as a Senior Medical Writer from April 2013 to March 2015.

Paula's career began with a role as an Assistant Project Scientist at UC San Diego from February 2012 to April 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSD from April 2008 to February 2012, where they focused on developing assays to compare primary CD4 T cell immunological responses in vitro and investigating the role of sialic acid binding immune-receptors in the function of primary T cells.

Paula Soto completed their PhD in Molecular Pathology at UC San Diego from 2001 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from U of Redlands, which they completed from 1995 to 1999. Lastly, Paula completed their high school education at Uruguayn American School.
