An-Chi Tien, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of research and science. Currently, they serve as the Principal Investigator at Ivy Brain Tumor Center since October 2018. Prior to this, they were a Research Assistant Professor at Barrow Neurological Institute from August 2016. In this role, they performed clinical trial operations and preclinical research for glioma patients. They also worked as a Postdoctoral Translational Scientist at the same institute. An-Chi Tien's previous work includes being a Postdoc Research fellow at the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, from August 2009 to August 2016. At this position, they conducted independent and collaborative scientific research focusing on Braf oncogenic mutations in brain development and tumor settings. They also established a mouse model for pediatric astrocytoma and discovered new cellular mechanisms related to gliogenesis. Before that, An-Chi Tien was a Graduate Student in Developmental Biology at Baylor College of Medicine from July 2003 to April 2009. During this time, they performed large-scale genetic screens and characterized novel genes involved in the Notch signaling pathway. Their earliest work experience was as a Research Assistant at the Division of Molecular Medicine, National Health Research Institutes from July 2002 to July 2003. In this role, they designed experiments and collaborated with software engineers to identify potential interacting proteins of the onco-protein Aurora-A kinase.
An-Chi Tien, PhD received a BS in Zoology from National Taiwan University in 2002. They later earned a PhD in Developmental Biology from Baylor College of Medicine in 2009. In addition, they have obtained several certifications in regulatory science and innovation from the UCSF-Stanford Center of Excellence.
