Steve Ashton

Steve Ashton, CPHR has over 30 years of work experience in various HR roles. Steve served as the Vice President of People & Organization Development at IWK Health Centre starting in 2008. Additionally, they were a Sessional Faculty/Lecturer at Dalhousie University from 2013 to 2020, teaching Human Resources in the School of Health Administration. Before that, they worked at Bell Aliant as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness from 2001 to 2008. Ashton started their career at Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette in 1989, where they held the position of Partner until 2001.

Steve Ashton, CPHR, has a strong education background in both psychology and human resources. Steve obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology from Dalhousie University in 1987 and later pursued an MBA specializing in Human Resources from the same university, completing it in 1991. Additionally, they received certification as a CPHR from CPHR Nova Scotia in August 1999. In 2007, Steve attended Harvard Business School, though the degree name and field of study are not provided.
