John Schmitt

John Schmitt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and innovation across various sectors. Currently serving as the Founding Executive Director at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center (AMIIC), John also co-founded iXpressGenes, which focuses on early detection of mental health issues, and leads Schmitt Consulting Group LLC, leveraging over 20 years of expertise in defense, civic engagement, and technology. Additional roles include advisory board membership at GeneCapture, founding member at the Inner Defense Initiative, and involvement with Rocket City Civil Rights and Listen Local Huntsville. John's former positions encompass significant responsibilities within the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office - Aviation and the CCDC Aviation & Missile Center, complemented by a strong academic background with a Master's in Microbiology and Immunology from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's in Biological Science from UC Davis.
