Michael Wells II

Michael Wells II has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain at IXS Coatings, a role they began in February 2023. Prior to this, Michael was the Business Owner of Basil Appliance Sales and Service, where they successfully grew the business and achieved industry-beating sales rates. Michael'stenure at Basil Appliance began in July 2017 and ended in September 2022.

Michael also has a history with Valspar, where they held multiple positions. As the General Manager of Aerosols, they led a successful turnaround of the aerosol products business in North America and secured highly profitable accounts. Michael then became the Director of Operations for the Wattyl group, overseeing safety, manufacturing, warehousing, and supply chain. Under their leadership, the division underwent a restructuring that resulted in significant improvements in year-over-year results. Michael also served as the Director of Manufacturing for the Consumer Division, where they spearheaded the launch of a trial product and implemented an efficiency program.

Before their time at Valspar, Michael worked at Plasti-Kote as the Plant Manager in Medina, OH, where they increased production capacity and improved safety records. Michael also worked at Valspar as a Production Shift Supervisor, where they improved efficiencies and led the second shift operations to become the best production team in the plant.

Michael's early work experience began in the United States Air Force, where they served as an Air Force Officer from March 1991 to June 1998.

Michael Wells II completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science at the University of Cincinnati from 1986 to 1990. Later on, from 1992 to 1994, they pursued an MBA in Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
