As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at iXSystems, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company’s growth by generating new business opportunities. You will be the first point of contact for our potential clients, responsible for engaging and nurturing leads through various channels. This role requires a proactive and motivated individual who is comfortable with reaching out to prospects, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for our sales team.

This is an in-office role based out of our Campbell, CA office.

Base Pay Range

The base pay range of this position is $60,000 to  $70,000 USD annually plus commission.

Please note that the provided range reflects the pay spectrum for positions within the same job category as the one to which this position belongs. The final offer will consider various factors, such as location, education, and prior experience, to ensure a comprehensive and fair compensation assessment.

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, a maximum of 90 days.

The Day-to-Day

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Respond to inbound inquiries

  • Generate new business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline by identifying, contacting, and engaging potential clients through cold calls, emails, and social media outreach.

  • Qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and purchase timeline through detailed discovery calls.

  • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest in TrueNAS products.

  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and business operations teams to pass qualified leads and schedule meetings, ensuring a seamless transition into the sales process.

  • Keep accurate records of all sales activities and interactions in CRM software (Salesforce).

  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly sales goals.

  • Stay informed of TrueNAS products and industry trends to effectively communicate the value proposition to prospective clients.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a similar role in the technology industry.

  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Ability to be both self-reliant and a team player

  • Background in Storage Industry or Open Source Technologies a plus

  • Familiarity with FreeNAS is a plus

  • Consistent track record of exceeding quota while maintaining customer loyalty and required product margins

  • Ability to properly forecast

  • Comfortable being the “underdog” and not just leveraging a name brand to open doors

  • Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of multitasking

  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, planning, and time management skills

  • A positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude

  • Ability to be both self-reliant and a team player

  • Background in Open Source Technologies a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 25% and flexibility to work EST timezone as needed

  • Telecommuting is possible for the right candidate
