Drew Newman

Drew Newman is an accomplished legal professional and cigar maker with extensive experience in both the legal and business sectors. Since 1996, Drew has served as General Counsel and Fourth Generation Cigar Maker at J.C. Newman Cigar Company. Prior roles include Chief of Staff at Single Stop from October 2014 to July 2016, and a variety of positions within the Council of the District of Columbia from March 2009 to October 2014, including Legislative Director for Councilmember Mary M. Cheh and Staff Director for the Committee on Transportation and the Environment. Drew's early career includes a role as Law Clerk at the D.C. Court of Appeals from September 2007 to February 2009. Educationally, Drew holds a Master in Public Policy from Princeton University, a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy and Leadership Studies from Williams College, and a study experience at the University of Oxford.
