Jim Jarvis

EVP, Majors & Madison Regions at J. F. Ahern Co.

As Executive Vice President of Ahern, Jim is responsible for managing and overseeing the Major Construction group in the Fond du Lac office. The Major Construction Group is responsible for bidding and managing long-term, large project work. He also oversees the Madison Region that is responsible for fire protection and mechanical contract and service work.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1989.

Jim joined Ahern directly out of college in 1989 as an Assistant Project Manager and has dedicated himself to Ahern’s customers and employees ever since. He was promoted to Project Manager in 1994, Manager of the Water/Wastewater Department in 1998 and in 2001 was appointed to Vice President of the Water/Wastewater Department. In 2005 Jarvis became an Executive Vice President. Jim has been a member of the Management Committee and a Shareholder since 2005.

Jim lectures about mechanical systems and construction management, and served the University of Wisconsin Engineering School as an Adjunct Faculty Member from 1998-2004. He also served on the AGC-Wisconsin Education Committee during 2000-2002. He is past president of the AGC-Wisconsin Specialty Contractor Board of Directors and continues to serve on the AGC-Wisconsin Board of Directors. He served on the MCAA Career Development Committee from 2002-2012. He currently serves on the board of the North Central Wisconsin MCAA and the statewide Wisconsin MCAA Board of Directors.

Jim has served the local community on the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation and Envision Greater Fond du Lac Board of Directors. He is a past president of the Fond du Lac Area YMCA board and has helped lead United Way fundraising locally.
