Amanda Payne

Amanda Payne is an Informatician and trained Epidemiologist who has been working in Public Health and Laboratory Informatics for the past several years. She earned her Master of Public Health degree from Emory University, with a concentration in Global Epidemiology. She currently serves as a Clinical Application Coordinator at the Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Laboratory Services, focusing on informatics projects for CDC’s Antibiotic Resistance Laboratory Network (ARLN). Prior to that, she was the electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) coordinator in the Surveillance Systems and Informatics Program at the Tennessee Department of Health.

Amanda has worked in public health informatics at both the federal and state level, and in both surveillance and laboratory settings. She has earned the HL7 Version 2.8 Control Specialist certificate and has experience in ELR validation and onboarding, implementing laboratory order and result interfaces (LOI/LRI), maintaining laboratory information management systems, requirements documentation, and user support.
