Paola Tinta

Senior Educational Adviser, Young Scholars Program at Jack Kent Cooke

As an educational adviser, Paola provides academic advising and access to educational opportunities to the Foundation’s Cooke Young Scholars Program.

Before the Foundation, Paola served as a therapeutic counselor for over 10 years in Northern Virginia, supporting and mentoring youth with varying educational, psychological, and emotional challenges. As a consultant, she has evaluated youth education programs both domestically and abroad, including for the Education Development Center in Honduras and Edu-Futuro’s college preparatory initiative in Virginia, a recipient of one of the Foundation’s Good Neighbor grants. Additionally, she founded two youth programs of her own, one a mentoring initiative called Líderes, connecting Baltimore inner-city Latino youth with Hopkins undergraduates, and most recently, Teen Experience USA, a cultural and educational summer program for international youth.

Paola holds a B.A. in international studies, psychology, and French from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.A. in International Development with a focus on education and youth from the American University School of International Service.
