Cindy Allen has worked for Jackson College since 1980, currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer. She has been directly involved in the performing arts since the Harold Sheffer Music Hall opened in 1980. In addition to the performing arts, Cindy also oversees the Office of Multi-Cultural Relations, Marketing and Communications, External Partnerships with the Community and Four-Year Universities, Security, Public Relations, Workforce Development, Career Coaching, Bookstore, and Campus Food Services. Previously she had administrative oversight for two housing complexes, South Central Michigan Works! Centers in Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee counties, and the prisoner reentry program. She also assists the President in legislative matters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, both from Siena Heights University.
Cindy has served as the college representative on numerous committees in the Jackson Community. She has served on the board of directors for the Host Lions Club and has helped with their charitable donations, fundraising and special outings. She has also helped to coordinate events for the Red Cross, United Way and the Boy Scouts. Currently, she serves on the Michigan Corrections Officers Training Council, providing leadership for the training needs of the corrections officers for the Department of Corrections. She has also served on two internal AQIP (Academic Quality Improvement Project) system portfolio committees, several college fundraisers, and mentored several individuals for the college’s Leadership Program.
A graduate of Jackson Community College, Cindy was born and raised in this community and lives in the Western School District with her husband Bill. They have three children, two who graduated with an Associate’s degree from JC and one with mastery from our automotive program. She has a future JC Jet in her five year old granddaughter, Addison.
