Associate Director, Innovation And Product Development at The Jackson Laboratory

Li-Chin (Lily) Yao, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in academia and industry. From 2007 to 2014, they worked at UCSF as a Postdoc/Research Scientist, where they developed transgenic mouse disease models to investigate various diseases and their potential treatments. Li-Chin (Lily)'sresearch focused on investigating the role of endothelial growth factors, inflammatory mediators, and immune cell depletion in mouse models of lung inflammation, pancreatic cancer, and rare disease congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasia.

In 2014, they joined The Jackson Laboratory, where they have held several roles. Initially, they worked as an In Vivo Scientist and Project Manager, responsible for the development of novel humanized mouse models for studying immune-oncology and autoimmune biology. Li-Chin (Lily) also managed preclinical in vivo services in areas such as cancer, immunotherapy, stem cell therapy, autoimmune disorders, and metabolic disorders. Li-Chin (Lily) was responsible for scheduling ongoing product development and writing PDX IACUC protocols.

Later, they transitioned to the role of In Vivo Senior Scientist and Project Manager, where they continued their research and managerial responsibilities. Most recently, they have served as the Associate Director of Innovation and Product Development, overseeing innovative projects and product development efforts.

Li-Chin (Lily) Yao, Ph.D. completed their Ph.D. in Developmental and Cell Biology at UC Irvine. Li-Chin (Lily) also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Husson University. Additionally, they worked as a postdoc researcher at the University of California, San Francisco.
