Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic portfolio management and intelligence operations. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Portfolio Management at Jackson since August 2019, Benjamin has successfully launched eight functionally-aligned business portfolios to enhance executive visibility and synchronize operational priorities. Prior to this role, Benjamin held the position of Principal in Lean/Agile Portfolio Management, where a governance framework was introduced to align IT planning with corporate strategy. Benjamin's career includes serving as an Intelligence Officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2010 to 2018, receiving the Galileo Award for contributions to technology modernization initiatives. Earlier experience includes a role as a System Administrator/Sergeant at the National Security Agency. Benjamin holds an MBA from Western Governors University and multiple executive certificates from The Wharton School, Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, and UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, focusing on strategy execution, organizational change, servant leadership, and leadership effectiveness.
