Kristen Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Kristen began their career in 2008 as the SGA President at Mississippi University for Women. In 2011, they interned at the National Society of Leadership and Success. Kristen then worked as a Biology Instructor at Jackson Public Schools in 2012, before joining Operation Shoestring CCI JPS in 2013 as a Master Teacher. Their role involved teaching Biology I and Biology II, as well as improving students' comprehension and study skills. In 2014, Kristen worked at United Way as a Lead Biology Teacher, where they helped improve graduation rates through tutorial sessions. Overall, Kristen brings a strong background in education and leadership to their work experience.

Kristen Barnes pursued their education in the field of Biology. In 2010, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from Mississippi University for Women. Kristen then went on to complete their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at Mississippi College from 2010 to 2011. Kristen further enhanced their expertise by obtaining certifications in Biology, General Science, and AP Biology from the State Board of Education of Mississippi in July 2012 and July 2013 respectively. Later, they pursued an Educational Specialist degree at Liberty University from 2012 to 2014.
