Charles Edwards, Jr. has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and communications. Charles started their career as a Reporter Fellow at NPR, where they worked closely with the national desk editor and NPR staff on reporting, editing, voicing, writing, and production. Charles then moved on to Georgia Public Broadcasting, where they anchored morning newscasts, produced news reports, and hosted a weekly news magazine and consumer call-in program. During their time at the company, they also served as a reporter, filing stories for NPR's newscasts and news magazine shows.

After leaving Georgia Public Broadcasting, Charles joined CNN as a Writer, working on stories for CNN International. Charles wrote wire copy for broadcast and formatted scripts for television under tight deadlines. Charles also worked at Public Broadcasting Atlanta, first as a Reporter, covering top political issues and hosting NPR's Morning Edition, and later as the Assistant News Director, assuming editorial responsibility for the newsroom when needed and balancing their time as a political reporter. Charles eventually became the Interim News Director, overseeing a newsroom of employees and freelancers, and making editorial decisions for news stories.

Currently, Charles is working at Jackson Spalding as the Coaching Practice Lead. Charles also holds the position of Media Coach/Crisis Advisor, where they assist clients with their media relations and crisis management needs.

Charles Edwards, Jr. attended Clark Atlanta University from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mass Media Arts.
