Troy Johnson is a seasoned broadcast journalist with extensive experience in news anchoring and reporting across various platforms. Currently serving as the Evening News Anchor at WAPT-TV since October 2018, Troy anchors the 5pm and 9pm newscasts and reports for the 6 and 10pm segments. Prior to this role, Troy held positions at Hearst as a News Anchor for WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and at Howard University as News Anchor/Air Personality. Troy has also contributed to CBS Radio, SiriusXM, and Morgan State University, showcasing a diverse skill set that includes live breaking news coverage, show production, and community media leadership. Throughout a career that began with Radio One's "The Big Phat Morning Show," Troy has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering engaging and informative content to audiences. Educated at Central State University and North Central High School, Troy's background combines both academic and practical experience in media.
