Richard Cloninger

Richard Cloninger currently serves as a Veterans Services Attorney at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. and as an Adjunct Professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville, both since January 2023. Previously, Richard held the role of Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Department of Corrections, where responsibilities included representing the department in litigation and providing legal guidance on compliance matters. Richard's experience with the United States Department of Defense as a Liaison Officer involved maintaining communication between various military offices and serving as a representative for sexual assault accountability initiatives. Prior to that, Richard served in the United States Marine Corps as an Attorney and Staff Judge Advocate, offering comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of issues. Richard holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Florida.
