Brian Yorkgitis is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in academia and clinical practice. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville since July 2021, Brian also functions as a Tactical Physician for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and holds the position of Pediatric Trauma Medical Director at UF Health Jacksonville. Brian's prior roles include Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida, as well as a Surgical Critical Care/Trauma/ACS Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital. With a foundation built through a rigorous surgical residency at Temple University Health System and extensive experience as a Physician Assistant across multiple hospitals, Brian possesses a diverse skill set in medicine. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant studies from Gannon University.
