Patrick Dempsey, SPHR, SHRM SCP, ARM

Patrick Dempsey, SPHR, SHRM SCP, ARM, has extensive experience in human resources and risk management. Patrick is currently serving as the Nevada Director of Human Resources at Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. Prior to this, they held the role of Executive Human Resources Director at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. At The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, they served as the Human Resources Director, leading a team of 16 and providing HR support for 1,600 employees. Patrick also served as the Human Resources Director at Spirit Mountain Casino, where they managed a team of 12 and provided broad-based HR support for 1,200 employees.

Before their roles in the casino industry, Patrick worked as the Human Resources Manager at Northwest Territorial Mint, overseeing HR, security, safety, environmental, fleet, and administrative functions. Patrick also served as the VP of Business Development at Advanced Professionals, an insurance brokerage firm, and as the HR Manager at Black Oak Casino Resort, where they helped grow the HR team and supported the expansion of the gaming facility.

Patrick's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Human Resources at fusionOne, an internet software developer, and as a Staff HR Generalist at Coherent Medical. Patrick also worked as a Senior HR Generalist and Training Manager at Abbott Diagnostics, where they supported the HR needs of a division with 600 employees.

Throughout their career, Patrick has demonstrated their expertise in HR management, risk management, and leadership.

Patrick Dempsey, SPHR, SHRM SCP, ARM, completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a focus on Marketing from National University in 1992. Patrick then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from Notre Dame de Namur University between 1994 and 1996.

Aside from their formal education, Patrick Dempsey also holds several certifications. In 2003, they earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI. Patrick further enhanced their expertise in human resources by obtaining the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in 2015. Additionally, they acquired the Associate in Risk Management qualification from The Institutes in December 2020. Most recently, in August 2021, they became a certified PI Practitioner through an institution called Jacobs Entertainment, Inc.
