Muhammad Abdul-Hadi

Muhammad Abdul-Hadi is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in social equity and community development. Currently serving as a Legacy Network Advisor at The James Beard Foundation since October 2023, Muhammad contributes to the training of emerging leaders in the culinary industry. As a Robert Wood Johnson Interdisciplinary Research Leaders Fellow since September 2022, Muhammad collaborates on the Growing Freedom Down North initiative, which aims to establish a sustainable food system while promoting health equity in North Philadelphia. As the Founder of the Down North Foundation, Muhammad works to empower marginalized communities through culture and resilience. Additionally, as the Founder and Owner of Down North Pizza, Muhammad operates a mission-driven restaurant that provides employment opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals. Muhammad holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Temple University and an Associate of Science in Addiction Counseling from Eastern University.
