Mitch Parsell

Mitch Parsell currently serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education at James Cook University since July 2025. Previously, from July 2019 to July 2025, Mitch held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education at the University of Tasmania, alongside the role of Academic Executive Director. Prior experience includes over 15 years at Macquarie University, where Mitch was the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Human Sciences, responsible for developing and implementing educational strategies, as well as serving in various academic roles, including Director of Learning and Teaching and Lecturer in Higher Education Development. Mitch holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Tasmania, obtained between 1991 and 2000.
