Karen Adams has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Karen'smost recent position was as the Head of Group Engineering and Innovation at James Fisher and Sons plc, where they oversaw all aspects of engineering and provided support across the Project Management Office. Prior to that, they worked at JFD Global in various roles such as Engineering & Operational Excellence Authority, Engineering Improvement Authority, Head of Engineering, and Head of Programmes. Before that, they held positions at Doosan Babcock as the Technical Competence & Capability Development Manager and at Doosan Power Systems as the Head of Projects - Boiler Product Development. Additionally, Karen has experience working at Thales as a Programme Manager for Armoured Fighting Vehicles, at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as a committee member and past-chair of the IET Young Professionals Network for Scotland South West, and at BAE Systems as a Principal Commissioning Engineer.

Karen Adams earned a Masters degree with Distinction in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Business Studies from the University of Strathclyde between 2000 and 2005. In 2009, they obtained the Chartered Engineering Status (CEng) from The Institution of Engineering and Technology. Additionally, in 2008, they obtained the APMP Qualification, an Accredited Project Manager Practitioner Qualification, from The Association for Project Management (APM).
