Life Long Learning Institute Professor at James Madison University

Nate Miller is a Landscape Designer at Messer Landscape, Inc. since April 2020 and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Horticulture and Landscape Design at Piedmont Virginia Community College and an Adjunct Professor of Biology, where basic and advanced horticulture, along with basic biology courses, are taught. As the owner of Simply Sustainable Landscape Design LLC since October 2012, Nate collaborates with clients to create sustainable landscapes and is currently publishing a book titled EONS on landscape design theory. Nate also holds a position as a Life Long Learning Institute Professor at James Madison University, teaching edible and sustainable landscape design and Agritourism. Additional roles include work as a gardener for the Town of Bridgewater, VA, and previous educational positions at Piedmont Virginia Community College and James Madison University. Nate holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Clemson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Environmental Studies from Bridgewater College.
