Chrl Karen Chan

Karen Chan, CHRL has several years of experience in human resources and education. Karen started their career as a Primary School Teacher at St. Paul's Convent School, where they taught various subjects to students from grades 1-6. Karen then transitioned to the corporate world, joining Aon Hewitt Canada as a Human Resources Analyst and Generalist. In this role, they provided guidance to the company on HR policies, programs, and laws, and ensured efficient data communication between HR and Payroll departments.

Karen then joined Spin Master Ltd. as a Manager and Senior HR Business Partner. Here, they oversaw HR processes and systems, managed employee files, payroll, communication, onboarding, health and safety, rewards and recognition, and employee relations. Karen also provided HR advice and counsel to leadership across the centers of excellence and business units.

Currently, Karen is the Director of Human Resources at Jamieson Laboratories. Karen is responsible for leading the People Strategy for the company and developing HR strategies that align with business objectives. Karen'srole includes developing and engaging employees, providing customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Karen Chan, CHRL has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Specialization in Management Science from the University of Waterloo. Karen attended the university from 1998 to 2002.

In 2006, Karen enrolled in the Human Resources Management Graduate Program at Seneca College. Karen completed the program with High Honours in 2012.

Karen has achieved various certifications, including the Certified Human Resources Professional from HRPA - Office of the Registrar in December 2014. Karen also holds certifications in First Aid & CPR/AED from St Johns Ambulance, Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification - Part 1 & 2 from Occupational Safety Group, and Red Cross Instructors from Red Cross.
