Hon. Barry Baskin

Hon. Barry Baskin (Ret.) is an experienced legal professional with a distinguished career in both the judiciary and private practice. Currently serving as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee, and neutral evaluator at JAMS since September 2022, Barry Baskin previously held a judicial role at Contra Costa Superior Court from 2002 to 2022, including serving as Presiding Judge from 2019 to 2020 and Assistant Presiding Judge from 2017 to 2018. Barry Baskin also served as a Judge at the California Court of Appeal's First District, Division Four, in 2012. Prior legal experience includes positions as a partner at Farrow, Bramson, Baskin & Plutzik from 1989 to 2002, and as an associate at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro from 1987 to 1989. Earlier, from 1979 to 1986, Barry Baskin was the managing partner at Baskin & Partners. Barry Baskin holds a Doctor of Law degree (JD) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
