Hon. Dean Lum (ret.) serves as an Arbitrator, Mediator, and Court-Appointed Neutral/Referee at JAMS since February 2022. Previously, Dean Lum was an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seattle University School of Law from January 2006 to February 2022 and served as a Judge at King County Superior Court for nearly 24 years, assuming various leadership roles, including Assistant Presiding Judge, Chief Criminal Judge, Chief Civil Judge, and Chief Judge of the Maleng Regional Justice Center. Additionally, Dean Lum held faculty positions at The National Judicial College and served as Dean at the Washington State Judicial College. Prior legal experience includes roles as Of Counsel at Bullivant Houser Bailey, Shareholder at Forsberg & Umlauf, P.S., and Associate at Bradbury Bliss & Riordan. Dean Lum began a legal career as a Deputy Prosecutor at the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Pomona College.
