Hema Sarang-Sieminski

Hema Sarang-Sieminski is an experienced attorney and advocate specializing in immigration law and support for survivors of domestic violence and LGBTQ individuals. Currently serving as Executive Director at Jane Doe Inc. since January 2020, Hema has held several leadership positions, including Deputy Director and Policy Director. Previously, Hema served as Senior Attorney at the Victim Rights Law Center and as Supervising Attorney at HarborCOV, where responsibilities included overseeing representation for immigrant survivors. Hema has extensive experience with immigration processes, including VAWA, asylum, and citizenship cases, and is dedicated to providing access to legal representation regardless of clients' financial circumstances. Hema's earlier roles include Director of Community Engagement at The Network/La Red, Staff Attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services, and Program Manager at Safe Horizon. Hema holds a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, along with additional studies in plant spirit medicine.

As the only sexual and domestic violence statewide, non-profit, advocacy, membership organization in Massachusetts, JDI provides expert support and resources to our 60 community based, sexual assault and domestic violence members. These local programs are the hubs of expertise in their communities. They advocate on behalf of victims and offer confidential, crisis and long-term support and services to tens-of-thousands of victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence and their families each year.
