Heather Nicell

Heather Nicell is an experienced professional in country intelligence, currently serving as Lead Analyst for Sub-Saharan Africa at Janes since July 2019. Prior roles at Janes include Manager for Northeast Asia & Oceania and Senior Analyst for Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, Heather worked as a Junior Research Analyst at The Risk Advisory Group and as a Research Assistant with The Turnaround Project in collaboration with Queen's University Belfast, focusing on reducing reoffending rates in Northern Ireland. Heather's early career included positions as a Retail Assistant at Primark and an Intern at CNN, where research was compiled for live shows. Heather holds a Master of Arts in Violence, Terrorism and Security from Queen's University Belfast and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Dublin City University, complemented by studies in Film and Broadcasting with French at Technological University Dublin.
