Neel Patel

Neel Patel is the current Head of Engineering at jaris. Prior to this, they were the Head of Data & Infrastructure Engineering at Tally Inc from August 2017 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for recruiting, building an innovative engineering culture, empowering engineers to build and own great products, and mentoring team members. Neel was also responsible for managing the reliability and scalability of Tally's infrastructure, the availability and performance of its data platform, and collaborating with other engineering and business leaders to create and maintain its product roadmaps.

Under Patel's leadership, the Data Engineering team at Tally was responsible for building and supporting a data platform built on top of Airflow, Spark on EMR, Redshift, Kinesis, and Kafka using both Python and Scala. The Infra team built out a reliable and scalable infrastructure using Terraform, Puppet, and Packer. Using these tools they managed an infrastructure that included EC2, Kinesis, SQS, S3, VPCs, RDS, Redshift, API Gateway, and Kubernetes.

In addition to their leadership duties, Patel was also responsible for building the financial reporting services to share data with Tally's investors and partners.

Neel Patel graduated from UC San Diego with a B.S. in molecular biology and computer science.

They work with Ryan Stewart - Chief Commercial Officer, Paige Cattano - COO, and Gene Ostrovsky - CFO. Neel Patel reports to Chris Aristides, Founder & CEO.
