Alistair Luke

Principal, Registered Architect at Jasmax

Alistair is a design-led architect with over 30 years’ experience in the New Zealand construction industry. Working alongside the Wellington Studio Lead Principal Evelyn Axten, he also works with the wider Jasmax team as a design leader and mentor.

His extensive 30-year career demonstrates a wealth of award winning design leadership in the civic and commercial sector. From his early work in the residential sector and after working in Italy and Austria, he went on to lead the design of the new terminal at Wellington Airport in the 1990’s. Alistair spent ten years' as the co-leader of the Jasmax Wellington studio from 2002 – 2012, during which time he led a number of highly regarded projects such as the Sutch House restoration, the Carter Observatory, the Wellington Zoo Amphitheatre, the visitor centre at Zealandia, the Alan MacDiarmid Building at VUW, and the Maidstone Library.

His return to Jasmax in 2019 follows after time as a Principal at Warren and Mahoney and Isthmus. As well as being an ethical, inclusive and inspiring leader, Alistair is known for consistently exceeding clients’ expectations.
