Rykiel Hong has a diverse work experience starting from 2005 when they worked at DENSO Malaysia as an Information Systems Technical Support. They were responsible for managing the company's enterprise-wide information system infrastructure, including LAN and WAN, and ensuring high availability of the infrastructure.
In 2007, they joined Fairfax Media as a Helpdesk Specialist, where their key responsibility was attending level 1 service calls, providing quick feedback and resolution, and collaborating with team members and other teams to resolve user requirements.
They later transitioned to the role of an IT Client Support Specialist at Fairfax Media from 2010 to 2011, followed by working as an IT Systems Engineer from 2011 to 2013.
In 2013, they moved to NewSat as a System Engineer, where they implemented various cybersecurity measures and managed infrastructure systems, such as Windows Servers and VMware Virtualization technologies.
In 2015, they joined Thomas Duryea Consulting as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they provided technical support and engineering services to managed services accounts, including system administration, onsite end user support, and hardware remediation. They also played a key role in problem, incident, and change management, and contributed to process improvement and documentation.
Finally, in 2023, they joined JB Hi-Fi Business as a Specialist Technician Team Lead, responsible for leading a team of Technical Support to Schools Program Specialists and IT Technicians. They also provided technical support to allocated schools and fulfilled human resources responsibilities for their team. Additionally, they served as a System Engineer at JB Hi-Fi Business since 2015.
Rykiel Hong attended the University of Wollongong from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Information Systems, specializing in Information Technology.
