Mervin Zhou

Mervin (Ye) Zhou currently serves as Group Vice President and Head of Strategic Investment at JD.COM since January 2022. Prior to this role, Mervin was a Partner at Softbank China Venture Capital from June 2011 to January 2022 and worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from January 2009 to June 2011. Mervin began career as a Strategy Consultant at Tencent in 2007 and co-founded Yoolin, serving as CEO/COO until its acquisition by a Sequoia Capital portfolio company in July 2007. Mervin holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a B.E. in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, and completed a Mini-MBA at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
