Samantha Matthews

Samantha Matthews has extensive experience as a Senior Accountant at the Jefferson County Commission, serving since February 1990. Responsibilities include closing cash drawers for over 15 clerks, balancing cash deposits, preparing Excel spreadsheets for tax verification, and managing petty cash accounts for four municipalities. From February 1996 to September 2014, Samantha also oversaw financial reporting for various grants, coordinated payroll for the Office of Senior Citizens, and managed compliance for over 50 contractors. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Alabama.
