Ryan Dempsey

Ryan Dempsey is an experienced educator and librarian with a diverse background in various international school settings. Currently serving as the District Librarian for Jefferson County School District 509J since August 2020, Ryan previously held the position of Head Librarian at Malvern College Hong Kong, where responsibilities included teaching information literacy and organizing school-wide events to promote reading. Prior roles also included Head Librarian at GEMS World Academy in Singapore and Raha International School, where Ryan supported student learning through library resource integration and developed strategic plans for library expansion. With a strong emphasis on academic integrity and research skills, Ryan has facilitated professional development for faculty and managed substantial budgets for library collections across multiple institutions. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Puget Sound and a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Wyoming.
