Rachel Strassel

Rachel Strassel is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Deputy Public Information Officer and Information Specialist for the Jefferson Parish Government since September 2021. Prior to this role, Rachel held positions at Gambel Communications, including Senior Communications Strategist, where responsibilities included coordinating public relations programs and conducting media outreach. Additional experience encompasses roles such as Communications Strategist at Friends of the Cabildo, Social Media Contractor at Zehnder Communications, and various editorial positions at The Times-Picayune and NOLA.com, demonstrating a strong background in media relations, content creation, and strategic communications. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Loyola University New Orleans and has also studied Graphic Design and Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
