Sherry Thurston possesses extensive experience in diverse roles across various sectors. Currently, Sherry serves at the Tulsa Police Department focusing on spiritual maturation since February 2021, while also functioning as a permanent substitute teacher at Jenks Public Schools since September 2020. In addition to educational roles, Sherry manages Simplicity’s Sundries, overseeing all aspects of this self-started business since September 2016, including production, marketing, and sales. Previous experience includes managing daily operations as Facilities Engagement Coordinator at the United States Shooting Academy from May 2015 to May 2019, and serving as a Senior Analyst in Financial Operations and Billing at Verizon Enterprise Solutions from September 2000 to December 2018, where significant improvements in operational efficiency were achieved. Sherry holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Drexel University, an ABD in Sociology from Kansas State University, and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Sociology from New Mexico State University, with additional studies in Public History and Women's Studies.
