Matt Mardesen

Matthew Mardesen, CPM, is an experienced client manager at JEO Consulting Group, Inc. since September 2021, with a robust background in municipal administration. Previously, Mardesen served as Chief of Staff for the City of Council Bluffs from November 2019 to June 2021 and as City Administrator for the City of Nevada, Iowa from January 2017 to 2019, where responsibilities included overseeing city operations and promoting economic development. Mardesen also held the roles of City Administrator and Economic Development Director for the City of Monroe from October 2012 to December 2016, focusing on business attraction and community development. Earlier positions include Investigations and Recovery Manager and Investigator 2 at Iowa Workforce Development, managing units focused on fraudulent activities and employee misclassification investigations. Mardesen holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from Drake University and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Simpson College.
