Assistant Features Editor For Print at Jerk Magazine

Kailey Norusis is currently a Reporting Intern at Central Current and a Staff Writer for The Daily Orange, roles held since February 2022 and January 2022 respectively. Kailey has also contributed to Jerk Magazine as an Assistant Features Editor for Print and Digital and Print Writer since September 2020. Previously, Kailey served as an Assistant Digital News Editor and News Writer for The Daily Orange from August 2019 to May 2021, covering the Syracuse University Student Association. Kailey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Textual Studies and Magazine Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University, with an educational background that includes a high school diploma from Coral Springs High School.

Jerk Magazine

Jerk Magazine is the premier student-run monthly publication at Syracuse University. The first of its kind, Jerk has set an unparalleled standard for campus magazines. In our efforts to “jerk” people out of their apathy, we have created a distinctive voice that is passionate and uncompromising, coupled with the visually arresting work of student artists. In each issue, Jerk confronts controversial political and social issues that affect the student body and the community that they live and work in. In support of the greater-Syracuse subculture, we provide a platform for alternative opinion and support local endeavors in music and the arts. Jerk aims to increase student knowledge and activism, diversify campus dialogue, and encourage a relationship between SU students and the Syracuse community. Through this fresh editorial and artistic style, we have broken away from the typical material found elsewhere and produced award-winning content that brings the media at Syracuse University to new heights.
